Summary: | Multiple Microsoft Windows operating systems and Linux distributions are vulnerable to a denial of service attack, caused by improper handling of certain types of 802.11b traffic. 802.11b is the set of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standards assigned to wireless local area networks (LANs). By sending a spoofed "Authentication-Failed" packet, a remote attacker could cause the wireless client to drop all connections or hang. The system must be restarted to regain normal functionality. | ||||||
