Title:CVE-2016-3140 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (trusty) - low.
Description:The digi_port_init function in drivers/usb/serial/digi_acceleport.c in the Linux kernel before 4.5.1 allows physically proximate attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and system crash) via a crafted endpoints value in a USB device descriptor. Sergej Schumilo, Hendrik Schwartke, and Ralf Spenneberg discovered that the Linux kernel's USB driver for Digi AccelePort serial converters did not properly validate USB device descriptors. An attacker with physical access could use this to cause a denial of service (system crash).
