Summary: | Microsoft Internet Explorer is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by a vulnerability in processing malformed .mht files. By creating a malformed .mht file, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system, once the victim views the malformed .mht file. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending the .mht file to a victim in an email or hosting it on a Web page.
Note: A victim must have Outlook Express installed on their system for this vulnerability to be exploited. | ||||||
