Vulnerability Name:

CCN-11524

Published:2003-03-12
Updated:2003-03-12
Summary:PostgreSQL is vulnerable to a denial of service attack, caused by a vulnerability in the recv_and_check_password0() function. By connecting to a vulnerable system from a host that matches one of the host entries in the pg_hba.conf file of the vulnerable system and sending a specially-crafted packet, a remote attacker could cause the system to crash.
