Vulnerability Name:

CCN-12187

Published:2003-06-03
Updated:2003-06-03
Summary:Microsoft Windows is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by a vulnerability in the gethostbyaddr() function. The gethostbyaddr() function returns the host name of the Internet host, which is specified by the ip_address parameter. A remote attacker could cause h_name, which is the name of the Internet host, to reference a NULL pointer, which would cause the program to crash.
