Summary: | The logging facilities in multiple Web servers are insecure in the way they create log files. Vulnerable Web servers permit special characters in REQUEST_METHODs when accessing dynamic resources, such as CGI scripts. The presence of these special characters could allow a remote attacker to manipulate and garble the information written to log files. Attackers may wish to hide their activities or bypass security countermeasures by garbling log file information. | ||||||
