Summary:Microsoft Windows Explorer fails to properly update cached ZoneID values when a file is overwritten. If the victim opens a trusted file in Windows Explorer, overwrites this file with the malicious file and then opens the overwritten file in the same Windows Explorer window, the untrusted file would be executed without warning. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by hosting the malicious file on a Web site or by sending it to a victim in an email.
