Updated: | 2005-03-07 | ||||||
Summary: | Oracle Database Server could allow a remote attacker to traverse directories on the Web server, caused by a vulnerability in the PL/SQL module. A remote attacker, who is authenticated, can send a specially-crafted URL request containing URL encoded "dot dot" sequences, in the form of (\..\) or (\\.\\..\\), to traverse directories and view arbitrary files on the server.
Note: Some exploits cannot be used to directly access files. The attacker may need to take other steps or gain permissions to exploit this vulnerability, depending on which vulnerable package the attacker is attempting to exploit. | ||||||
