Vulnerability Name:

CCN-53552

Published:2009-09-30
Updated:2009-09-30
Summary:Novell Netware is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the portmapper daemon (PKERNEL.NLM) when processing CALLIT RPC calls. By sending a specially-crafted CALLIT RPC call, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with elevated privileges.
