Updated: | 2000-10-22 | ||||||
Summary: | Norton AntiVirus for Microsoft Windows Me could allow a remote attacker to bypass virus detection. If an attacker places a virus or trojan under the C:\_Restore directory in Windows Me, Norton AntiVirus fails to detect the virus or trojan, even if a 'Full System Scan' is performed. If the directory is manually scanned, the virus or trojan is found, however, it cannot be cleaned. An attacker could save viruses or trojans in this directory to avoid detection by Norton AntiVirus. | ||||||
