Updated: | 2010-03-10 | ||||||
Summary: | Microsoft Windows could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by improper handling of CHM files placed in the root directory when a relative path is received as an argument by the MS HTML Help ActiveX control (hhctrl.ocx) HtmlHelpA() function. By persuading a victim to open a specially-crafted TXT file located in a remote network share, press the "F1" key, and then select a topic, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary JavaScript code in a local machine security zone. | ||||||
