Summary: | Microsoft Windows 2000 Index Server version 2.0 and Indexing Service version 3.0 could allow a malicious Web site operator to gather file information from a visiting user's computer. The ActiveX controls shipped with the Indexing Service are improperly set as "Safe for Scripting". If the Index Server is installed on a visiting user's computer, but the Indexing Service is not running, a malicious Web site operator can write a Web application to see file information, such as file names and properties. If the Indexing Service is running on a visiting user's computer, a malicious Web site operator can search the file contents for specific keywords to discover the names of files and folders and to view their properties. | ||||||
