Summary: | Many Unix systems may be vulnerable to a denial of service attack, due to a vulnerability in the tty utility. The tty utility is used to monitor and control users on a single system. When a user Telnets to a Unix system, the assigned tty becomes writable for any user on the system until the login is confirmed. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by writing data to the tty while the user is logging in to block all users from establishing a telnet connection to the Unix system. | ||||||
