Updated: | 2012-04-20 | ||||||
Summary: | Microsoft Visual Studio is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow, caused by an integer overflow in linker utility (link.exe) when calculating the size of COFF symbol tables embedded in executables. By persuading a victim to open a specially-crafted Portable Executable (PE) file, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the application to crash. | ||||||
