Vulnerability Name:

CCN-9826

Published:1996-06-24
Updated:1996-06-24
Summary:A vulnerability in the ipfw packet filtering program in FreeBSD-current and FreeBSD-STABLE dated prior to 23-Jun-1996 could result in a different level of packet filtering then what is expected. When mask addresses are specified to ipfw using the address:mask syntax, the packet filtering level changes without the user's knowledge, which causes ipfw to either allow or deny more packets than what is expected.
