Vulnerability Name:

CVE-2022-23086 (CCN-236770)

Assigned:2022-09-20
Published:2022-09-20
Updated:2022-09-20
Summary:FreeBSD could allow a local authenticated attacker to gain elevated privileges on the system, caused by a heap-based buffer overflow in the handling of arguments to the MPT device. By sending a specially-crafted request, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of the kernel.
